What are Debenture Tickets

Wimbledon Debenture Tickets are the only legally transferrable tickets to The Championships, Wimbledon.

These tickets are owned by a ‘Debenture Holder’, who purchases the rights to a seat(s) for either Centre or No.1 Court, for a five-year term, providing them with a ticket to each day of The Championships, Wimbledon, for their chosen court.

The rights to a Wimbledon debenture ticket lasts for 5-years, with existing holders given the rights to renew, which makes new availability difficult. Wimbledon Debentures are highly sought-after and with existing holders having the rights to renew, becoming a new holder can be very difficult.

The All England Club issues a debenture prospectus each term, allowing you to apply directly to them. By way of an example the last issue prices were, Centre Court at approximately £160,000 a pair, and No.1 Court at £90,000 a pair, for a 5-year term.

The money raised from debenture sales has paid for many improvements inside the grounds, including the Centre Court roof, followed by the No.1 Court roof in 2019. The All England Lawn Club uses funds from debenture sales to offset the considerable expense of running The Championships, none of which would be possible without funds generated by debenture holders.

Who are Debenture Holders?

Debenture Holders can be anyone – private individuals or businesses from anywhere in the world. However, the vast majority of Wimbledon debenture holders are private individuals in the UK. There are 2,500 Centre Court debentures and 1,250 No.1 Court debentures.

Most Debenture holders do not attend each day of The Championships, they therefore may sell any surplus tickets they are not using. WimbledonDebentureTickets.online is a bespoke marketplace, allowing Wimbledon debenture holders to list any surplus tickets they may have to sell.

Uniquely the debenture holders are issued their seats randomly each year by the All England Club (during May), which allows each holder to be treated fairly during the 5-year term. As such their seat numbers are not known to them until May each year.

Seating Information

The principal show court at Wimbledon is, of course, Centre Court, the most famous grass court in the world. With a state-of-the-art retractable roof Centre Court can host matches regardless of weather conditions.

Countless breath-taking matches have taken place on the immaculate turf, with tennis fans around the world making a pilgrimage to witness such greats as Roger Federer, Andy Murray, and Serena Williams clinch victory.

With a capacity of just 15,000, the atmosphere inside is electric, and with Debenture Seating within the first 14 rows of the Middle Tier, Debenture Tickets provide unrestricted views of the action.

Although not as popular as its bigger brother, No.1 Court is an incredible show court that has been enhanced in recent years to include a retractable roof to ensure play continues despite any weather conditions.

No.1 Court represents great value at the Championships, access is substantially cheaper, and top seed players are regularly scheduled throughout the tournament, with many spectacular matches played throughout its history.

Inside the court, there are just 12,300 seats, and amongst true tennis fans, No.1 Court is incredibly popular. Debenture seats are, of course, some of the best, providing open views of the court from any position.
